Requirements to Become an RN in Massachusetts
To become an RN in Massachusetts (and other states), you must attend an accredited professional nursing program. To secure an entry-level RN position, you can choose a training program that awards an associate degree in nursing (ADN). You must complete your ADN program with a satisfactory GPA before taking the NCLEX-RN exam.
The NCLEX-RN is a licensing exam that includes both a written test and a skills assessment. Passing the NCLEX-RN allows you to apply for an RN license in Massachusetts.
